India-based RMC Switchgears Limited has secured a significant contract as the lead member of a consortium to develop a 46 MW (AC) PV portfolio in Maharashtra. The project aims to solarize agricultural feeders in the region. The contract, valued at INR 201 crores, was awarded through a competitive bidding process and e-reverse auction. The consortium has secured three separate EPC contracts along with three-year operations and maintenance contracts in Ahmednagar district. RMC Switchgears says it is leveraging its in-house expertise and collaborating with installation experts to deliver this project. The company says it is also pursuing additional tenders exceeding 500 MW to achieve its goal of securing 1 GW in renewable energy.
