India-headquartered RMC Switchgears Limited has announced plans to establish a solar module manufacturing plant with a 1 GW annual capacity and a solar module mounting structure facility of the same size in Badodiya Village, Jaipur, Rajasthan. The project, with a capital expenditure of INR 100 crore (~$11.78 million), will be executed through its subsidiary RMC Green Energy Pvt. Ltd., which RMC plans to make a wholly owned subsidiary. Scheduled to be operational by July 2025, the facilities aim to enhance operational efficiency through backward integration by reducing reliance on external suppliers, supporting Solar EPC and IPP projects, and improving supply chain reliability.
