ReNew, a prominent renewable energy company in India, has inaugurated a 400 MW solar project in Rajasthan as part of a 600 MW PPA with the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited. Situated in the Pokran and Bhaniyana tehsils of Jaisalmer district, this project will produce approximately 1,331 million kWh annually, enough to power 300,000 households. Offering a competitive tariff of INR 2.18/kWh, the remaining 200 MW of the plant is expected to be operational by October. Connected to Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited, the project will reduce CO2 emissions by 1.4 million tons each year. Utilizing locally-manufactured solar modules, it supports the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and has created significant local employment. Additionally, ReNew is involved in water conservation efforts in water-stressed areas, benefiting over 700 families.
