Chinese solar cell and module manufacturer Tongwei Solar presented its TNC-G12R based solar cells at the Renewable Energy India Expo 2025. The company highlighted efficiency improvements under its TNC 2.0 roadmap, with the cell efficiencies reaching 25.6%. These gains are supported by technologies such as Tongwei Passivation Edge (TPE), Precise Pattern Design, and Poly Tech. Tongwei has produced over 290 GW of solar cells globally and supplies cells to major module manufacturers, according to the company. It also noted that G12R wafer format is seeing strong demand in the Indian market due to its compatibility with emerging module designs.
