Q-SUN Solar and Bakarat Investment are collaborating to build a PV cell and module production plant in Sohar, Oman. According to the company, this joint venture will create a state-of-the-art facility with a 10 GW capacity, allocated as 8 GW for PV module manufacturing and 2 GW for PV cell production. The plant will incorporate technologies like TOPCon and HJT to enhance efficiency. This project leverages Oman’s abundant solar resources and strategic location to address the growing demand for PV modules in the region. It aligns with Oman’s Vision 2040, focusing on local manufacturing, technological advancement, and economic growth. The initiative is expected to generate job opportunities, promote knowledge transfer, and strengthen Oman’s position in the renewable energy sector.
