PureSky Energy, a US–based community solar developer, has announced the commercial operation of two community solar projects in Corinth, New York. The Heath Brook and Sand Brook facilities together have a combined installed capacity of approximately 12.92 MW DC. Heath Brook Solar has an installed capacity of 6.589 MW DC and uses 12,090 solar panels, while Sand Brook Solar has a capacity of 6.334 MW DC and uses 11,622 panels. According to the announcement, the portfolio is anticipated to provide around 18.8 million kWh of electricity annually, equivalent to supplying power to approximately 2,725 homes annually. PureSky Energy has also stated that the projects are projected to offset approximately 13,600 metric tonnes of COâ‚‚ annually and provide nearly $8 million in utility bill credits to subscribers over a 30-year period. Both projects participate in the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s Inclusive Community Solar Adder program, under which 60% of project capacity is reserved for low-to-moderate income subscribers.
