China-based Tongwei Solar, a PV technology firm, set a new TÜV-certified efficiency record with its THC-G12 HJT module on March 20, 2025. The module delivered 790.8 W of output at 25.46% full-area efficiency under standard dimensions of 2384×1303 mm, exceeding the previous 783.2 W record from February 2025. This result combined multiple advancements, including backside passivation, edge optimization, and fine-line processing on the cell side. On the module side, proprietary technologies such as 908 busbar-free interconnection, ultra-high flux light utilization, and ultra-low loss wire transmission were applied. Since 2023, Tongwei has surpassed output records eleven times, including three since opening its Global Innovation and R&D Center in June 2024. Its core HJT platform is based on bifacial microcrystalline layers, silver-free copper interconnection, and 908 module architecture.
