LONGi Green Energy Technology, headquartered in China, has launched the upgraded Hi-MO 9 module with HPBC 2.0 technology recently. The company said the module delivers 670 W output with 24.8% efficiency, exceeding mainstream TOPCon modules by 40 W in mass production. According to LONGi, Hi-MO 9 uses a 0BB design and over 80% bifaciality to improve energy yield under various conditions. Field data showed output gains of 1.89% in Hainan and 1.62% in Riyadh compared to conventional modules. LONGi stated that Hi-MO 9 achieves 1.5% higher efficiency and 6.4% more installed capacity per land area than TOPCon. The company also reported a 27.81% efficiency record for its HIBC solar cell, which was certified by ISFH in Germany. LONGi and TÜV Rheinland has also launched a 50 MW+ solar plant design competition with $280,000 in prizes.
