Enphase Energy, a US-based manufacturer of solar microinverter systems, has released a software update enabling IQ7 users to integrate IQ8 Microinverters. The update is available across North America, Europe, and additional regions, and does not require replacing existing IQ Gateway or IQ Combiner hardware. According to Enphase Energy, IQ8 Microinverters support high-powered panels and help increase energy output while preserving system reliability. The company stated that over one million IQ7 users can now expand systems without major hardware changes. Installers from the United States, Mexico, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and France have reported simplified upgrades, improved efficiency, and reduced downtime. Enphase Energy added that the software enables interoperability between IQ7 and IQ8, allowing gradual system scaling and reducing costs through its software-defined architecture.
