Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TGREDCO), a Hyderabad-based agency responsible for promoting state renewable projects, has directed officials to accelerate groundwork for new decentralised solar plants across multiple districts. TGREDCO Chairman A Sharath has instructed teams to fast-track procedures for two MW installations planned through women’s self-help groups at Lakshmidevipalli in Sujathanagar and Udathneni Gumpu in Manuguru, where land was already allocated. He has also asked for preparation of a plan to set up a solar plant at the Sri Sitarama Chandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, ensuring broader inclusion of institutional sites. Sharath stated that TGREDCO has identified 80 villages for developing model solar villages, selecting Gandugulapalli in Bhadradri Kothagudem as the initial location.
