The Brussels-based organization SolarPower Europe has pointed out that with electricity demand in the Europe expected to grow by 50% around 2030, flexibility in balancing the power system will be key. As per the SolarPower Europe, BESS and demand response are necessary, because they stabilize grids, cut curtailment, and manage congestion as renewable deployment keeps expanding. SolarPower Europe has further mentioned that the adaptation of flexible measures will result in decreasing electricity prices, reducing fossil-fuel import costs, and avoiding large-scale annual COâ‚‚ emissions. The association has also organized a Flexibility Strategy Day with EU policymakers and industry representatives.
