Andhra Pradesh, an Indian state, has submitted a INR 28,033 crore (~ $3.08 billion) proposal to the Central Electricity Authority for Green Energy Corridor Phase-3. The proposal is aimed at integrating 11 GW of solar capacity and 7,373 MW of pumped storage through 8,862 circuit-km of transmission lines and 9,500 MVA of transformation capacity. According to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, 69 ongoing transmission projects worth INR 8,638 crore (~ $950 million) are expected to add 14,046 MVA and 2,041 circuit-km. Transmission losses were reduced from 2.69% to 2.60%, while non-tariff revenue has increased to INR 174.47 crore (~ $19 million) from leasing OPGW fibers. APGENCO, a Vijayawada-based state power utility, has been advancing hydel and pumped storage projects aligned with the state’s expansion program. Distributed deployment has progressed under PM-KUSUM with 2.93 lakh agricultural pumps, while rooftop adoption under PM Surya Ghar has reached 39,863 households.
