Oxford PV has set a new world record for solar module efficiency, achieving 26.9% with its perovskite-on-silicon tandem cells. The 60-cell residential-size module, designed for home use, is lightweight and has been independently certified by Fraunhofer CalLab. According to Oxford PV the module can deliver 20% more power in the same space, reducing installation costs and supporting decarbonization efforts, Looking ahead, Oxford PV plans to scale up production to gigawatt volumes to meet increasing market demand for high-efficiency solar technology. The company will also showcase this innovation at Intersolar Europe in Munich.
