Origis Energy and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) announced that the Golden Triangle II, a 150 MWac solar project with 50 MW battery storage, has reached commercial operation. This is the first of three solar plus storage projects in Mississippi, part of a complex that will total 550 MW of solar capacity and 150 MW of battery storage by 2025. These projects, including Golden Triangle I and Optimist, will power approximately 126,000 homes with 1.5 million solar panels. Origis Energy developed, constructed, and will operate these projects under PPAs with TVA to support energy demands and sustainability goals for industrial customers like Meta. The projects are expected to generate $106 million in construction benefits and $145 million in long-term economic benefits for the region.
