Origis Energy, a prominent player in America’s renewable energy sector, has secured a $136 million construction financing facility from MUFG, a global financial group, for its Rice Creek Solar project in Putnam County, Florida. The 75 MW PV facility, contracted by the Florida Municipal Power Agency’s (FMPA), is part of a major municipal-backed solar initiative. Origis Energy, serving as builder, owner, and operator, partnered with Latham & Watkins and Akerman LLP for legal representation. MUFG was advised by Milbank, LLP and Greenberg Traurig LLP. Rice Creek Solar is poised to receive an Energy Community Adder to Investment Tax Credits, a rare incentive for Florida-based projects. Expected to power 14,000 homes and mitigate 74,000 metric tons of CO2 annually, the project contributes to both environmental and economic benefits. Origis Energy’s solar capacity in Florida stands at nearly 1 GW.
