Orange Energies announces the expansion of its digital platform, Orange Smart Energies, to energy producers in Africa. The goal is to increase energy inclusion by providing prepaid access to energy through solar kits and smart meters. This IoT platform addresses profitability challenges by reducing the risk of non-payment. According to the company, Orange Smart Energies, developed by Orange and enhanced in 2021, now guarantees payment via mobile money for all energy producers in Africa and the Middle East. The platform supports pay-as-you-go solar equipment and prepaid smart meters. Launched in 2017, Orange Energies operates in 12 countries, serving over 300,000 households daily, and continues to expand its coverage across the continent.
