OMV Petrom has initiated its first large-scale photovoltaic project at Ișalnița, Dolj County in Romania, with an expected capacity of 89 MW. Following a competitive selection, OMV Petrom awarded the EPCC (Engineering & Design, Procurement, Execution & Commissioning) contract to a consortium of Romanian firms: Actual Connect S.R.L., Global Technical Systems S.A., Bit Invest S.R.L., and Alpin Sun S.R.L. The project includes constructing a photovoltaic park, a 110 kV substation for grid connection, and a two-year operation and maintenance period post-commissioning. The photovoltaic plant, for which the investment decision was confirmed in June 2024, is expected to produce approximately 130 GWh annually, with construction scheduled to be completed by mid-2026.
