US-based OCI Energy has sold a 260 MWdc solar project, Project Hillsboro, to South Korea-based Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd., marking their first transaction together. This deal, finalized at OCI Energy’s San Antonio headquarters, establishes a foundation for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at future renewable energy collaborations. According to OCI Energy, the project, located in Hill County within the ERCOT North load zone, will be constructed by Hyundai Engineering, with operations slated to start in Q1 2027. This sale aligns with OCI Energy’s strategic shift from OCI Solar Power to a broader focus encompassing utility-scale solar projects and battery energy storage systems.
