The first modular offshore solar floaters from Oceans of Energy arrived at the Port of Amsterdam during the week of October 14, 2024. These prefab units are part of the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore solar farm, set to become the largest offshore solar installation in the North Sea when it is installed in 2025. The project will combine solar power with offshore wind and hydrogen energy systems. The Port of Amsterdam, chosen for its suitability, will facilitate rapid assembly and deployment of the system. Oceans of Energy has demonstrated the effectiveness of this modular system earlier in Belgium, showing that it requires minimal time and equipment for assembly. The company is preparing to tow out the solar units in 7 MW batches through the Ijmuidenseasluice.
