New Zealand Green Investment Finance (NZGIF) has provided a NZD 78 million facility to Auckland-based utility solar developer Far North Solar Farm (FNSF) to finance grid connection infrastructure and development activities across five solar sites in New Zealand. This investment is expected to accelerate the development of 1,132 MWp of new renewable energy capacity, enough to power approximately 178,000 homes annually. Following the deal, FNSF quickly utilized the financing, signing a NZD 22 million works agreement with Transpower to advance the projects.
