Solar Landscape to enhance energy efficiency on NSA properties

National Storage Affiliates Trust (NSA), a real estate investment trust (REIT), and solar developer Solar Landscape, both US-based companies, have joined forces to develop 100 MW of PV rooftops across NSA’s properties nationwide. According to NSA, the initiative will span roughly 8.5 million square feet across 1,000 locations in 42 states and Puerto Rico. Solar Landscape will assess these sites for potential community solar projects, aiming to provide discounted clean energy to local homes and businesses. It claims that these projects will enhance the local electric grid by generating power close to consumption points. Notably, NSA will not need to invest any capital, as Solar Landscape will handle all aspects of development, ownership, and operation, while paying monthly lease fees to NSA. Development on the first sites in the partnership has already begun.
