Nordic Solar has inaugurated what it calls the largest solar park in Lithuania. This 100 MWp solar park in the Moletai region has the capacity to produce power equivalent to the annual consumption of approximately 28,000 European households. The project aligns with Lithuania’s strategic energy goals, aiming for 45% renewable energy by 2030 and energy independence by 2050. In April, Molėtai solar park was integrated into Lithuania’s grid in collaboration with Litgrid, the nation’s grid operator overseen by the Ministry of Energy. Additionally, Nordic Solar has inked a balancing pact with Enefit, a green energy solutions firm under the Eesti Energia group, committing to buy 100 MW of the park’s generated electricity. The company plans to erect two more solar parks in Lithuania, contributing to the country’s increase in solar capacity and energy independence.
