Sweden- based Niam Infrastructure and Evecon have joined forces to develop up to 110 MW of renewable energy projects in Latvia, including 84 MW of solar power and 26 MW of energy storage across 11 sites. The first phase of the project includes 40 MW of solar capacity across six sites, which are under construction, with completion expected by March 2025. A second phase, covering 44 MW across five additional sites, is scheduled to start construction by the end of 2024. The projects will also explore energy storage solutions to stabilize supply and maximize output through power purchase agreements. Financing for the construction is provided by Niam Infrastructure, with project financing from Citadele Banka. The completed projects will be jointly owned and managed by Niam and Evecon.
