Nextracker and JENNMAR’s subsidiary JM Steel have announced the completion of a significant expansion at JM Steel’s Leetsdale facility in Pittsburgh, boosting Nextracker’s solar tracker manufacturing capacity to 4 GW. The refurbishment signals a shift towards domestic manufacturing and clean energy in the US. The Leetsdale factory now triples its capacity, creating 60 new jobs with new manufacturing lines dedicated to solar projects. The facility, reopened in 2022, produces critical steel components for solar energy projects in Pennsylvania and the mid-Atlantic. JENNMAR’s claims to have invested over $100 million in the US solar industry over the past four years. Nextracker’s growth includes 20 new or expanded manufacturing partner facilities since 2021, enabling the company to provide over 25 GW of solar tracker capacity annually.
