UK-based NextEnergy Capital’s NextPower UK ESG Fund has acquired the 50 MW Staughton Solar Farm in Bedfordshire, marking its twelfth acquisition and second this November. The solar asset, operational from day one, will generate cash flow while supplying renewable electricity to about 12,500 UK households annually. As per NextEnergy Capital, the fund now oversees 178 MW of operational solar and energy storage assets, with 387 MW currently under development. The fund has secured £683 million (~$854 million), exceeding its original £500 million (~$625 million) target by 37%. Further capital commitments are expected soon from investors undergoing late-stage due diligence. The project has raised NPUK’s portfolio capacity to 565 MW since its launch in August 2022.
