US-based Nexamp, a prominent community solar developer, has partnered with Walmart to roll out 31 community solar projects. These projects will span five states: Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Illinois, and Minnesota. Together, they will generate over 120 MW (DC) of clean energy. According to Nexamp, this initiative will benefit 8,000 residential customers and local businesses. Walmart and Nexamp previously teamed up for similar projects in New York in 2021. The new venture is set to create over 1,500 jobs during construction and operations. Nexamp’s model allows households to subscribe without rooftop installations. The company claims subscribers will see combined savings exceeding $2 million annually. Nexamp emphasizes that these solar projects will offer consumers lower utility costs and long-term energy savings.
