Nexamp, the leading community solar provider in the US, has teamed up with Starbucks to implement over 40 MW of solar energy in Illinois. This collaboration will introduce six new community solar projects to Nexamp’s Illinois portfolio, providing electricity savings to more than 1,100 residents in the ComEd and Ameren utility areas. Nexamp said the new solar farms will also generate hundreds of jobs and support workforce development through partnerships with local organizations for job training. Starbucks will acquire a share of the renewable electricity credits, with the rest available to local residents and businesses. Construction on these projects has commenced and they are expected to be operational by 2025. Nexamp is also planning to extend this program US-wide.
