MIGIVA Group, an agricultural enterprise in Ica, Peru, has constructed the country’s first “renewables + agriculture” floating solar plant at its Agrícola Andrea farm. The 450 kW plant is equipped with Sungrow FPV systems and is designed for on-site self-consumption. Sungrow FPV has also provided construction guidance to ensure the project’s timely completion. The project is expected to generate over 780,000 kWh annually. This installation is projected to save approximately $140,000 in electricity costs and reduce CO₂ emissions by over 650 tons per year. Built on the surface of a reservoir within the farm, the floating solar system addresses water scarcity by reducing evaporation and maintaining water quality. The project integrates renewable energy with agricultural practices, demonstrating the potential of floating solar technology in arid regions.
