Singapore-based Maxeon Solar Technologies, Ltd. and China-based Tongwei Solar Co., Ltd. have recently finalized a Settlement and Cross-Licensing Agreement recently. The deal resolves patent disputes over shingled solar cell and module technology and enables cross-licensing of the technology. Maxeon had previously filed a patent infringement lawsuit in mid-2023 against Tongwei Solar (Hefei) Co., Ltd. and its subsidiary Tongwei Solar GmbH in Germany. The case involved Maxeon’s European Patent No. EP3522045 B1, covering its Performance Line solar technology.
