The World Bank Group, IFC, PDT and Ditrolic Energy has signed a collaboration agreement to develop the Southern Johor Renewable Energy Corridor in Johor. The agreement was issued during the launch of the Johor Renewable Energy Policy 2030. The corridor was planned as a 2,000 square-kilometer solar and storage zone. Its first phase was designed to host 4 GW of solar capacity. It also included 5.12 GWh of battery storage on a 10,000-acre site. The USD 6 billion project was expected to supply clean power for Johor’s industrial users. It was also intended to support electricity exports to Singapore under the ASEAN Power Grid. PDT said the project aligned with the Johor Green Development Policy 2030. The collaboration was announced shortly after the ASEAN Power Grid Financing initiative.
