The UK Government, headquartered in London and responsible for national energy policy, has released a Solar Roadmap targeting 45-47 GW of installed capacity by 2030, with a potential to reach 57 GW. The UK Government has prioritized rooftop deployment across residential, commercial, and public buildings through standardized leases, solar canopies in car parks, and the Warm Homes Plan. According to Ofgem, the End-to-End review has been launched to streamline solar-plus-storage grid connections and enhance network transparency. The UK Government has allocated £46 million (~ $62.56 million) to improve planning capacity, raise the NSIP threshold to 100 MW, and review the Contracts for Difference scheme. The Office for Clean Energy Jobs has been assigned to oversee training programs, career fairs, and workforce mapping. The UK Government has also included provisions for ethical sourcing, floating solar integration, community benefits, and the establishment of a Solar Council to monitor and coordinate delivery across stakeholders.
