U-Solar Clean Energy Solutions, a renewable energy firm based in Bengaluru, has commissioned Kerala's first group captive solar power plant in Kasaragod for Aster DM Healthcare. The 8.5 MW power plant was developed and built in 18 months in spite of harsh slopes, rocky terrain, and unpredictable weather patterns across the site. The installation is equipped with advanced mono PERC technology and is designed to generate nearly 14 million kWh annually. Power generated from the facility is supplied to Aster DM Healthcare’s hospitals in Calicut and Kannur, which have continuous 24/7 operational requirements. The installation has been structured to address high hospital energy demand and has helped in reducing operational costs significantly in the healthcare sector. According to U-Solar Clean Energy Solutions, the project also prevents nearly 11,600 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year in Kerala.
