Trinasolar ISBU Japan has signed a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement with Equinix, a global data center operator. Under the agreement, Trinasolar will supply renewable energy from the 30 MW Yufutsu Abira Solar Project in Hokkaido. Scheduled to begin operations in Q3 2028, the project will deliver 36 GWh of clean power annually to support Equinix’s long-term energy needs in Japan. This marks Trinasolar ISBU’s first PPA execution with Equinix in the country, transitioning the company from a pure renewable solutions provider to a direct clean energy supplier. Located in northern Japan, the Hokkaido site positions Trinasolar ISBU (International Systems Business Unit) to contribute to regional decarbonization efforts.
