Trinasolar, a China-based provider of PV modules and smart energy solutions, and HoloSolis, a France-based solar manufacturer, have signed a patent licensing agreement granting HoloSolis rights to use Trinasolar’sTOPCon solar cell technology in Europe. According to Trinasolar, the licensing of its mature and scalable TOPCon portfolio will enable HoloSolis to establish a 5 GW solar factory in Hambach, Moselle, designed to produce 10 million panels annually and generate over 2,000 jobs. As per HoloSolis, more than EUR 200 million (~ $220 million) in financing has been secured along with 20 GW of customer commitments through Letters of Intent, ensuring five years of production. The agreement was described by both companies as a significant step in strengthening European solar manufacturing capacity and energy security.
