India-based integrated energy company, Tata Power, has recently announced that it has crossed 1.5 lakh rooftop solar installations pan India, reaching an installed capacity of around 3 GW. This rooftop initiative is managed through its subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL), and currently covers 700 cities nationwide. The company said that more than 1.22 lakh of its rooftop solar customers are residential users. As per Tata Power, it offers tailored rooftop solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial segments, supported by 575+ distribution partners in 300 cities and 225+ service partners in 400 cities. The company has partnered with over 20 financial institutions to provide easy financing options and is actively contributing to government programs such as the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
