US-based perovskite solar developer Tandem PV has secured $50 million in Series A funding. The investment will be used to establish a commercial-scale perovskite solar panel manufacturing facility in the U.S. The funding is led by Eclipse and backed by multiple investors. It aims to support domestic solar production and reduce reliance on foreign manufacturers. Tandem PV’s tandem perovskite panels currently achieve 28% efficiency, with projections exceeding 30% by 2025. These high-efficiency panels lower installation costs and provide greater energy output compared to traditional silicon-based solar technology. With a perovskite layer 200 times thinner than silicon and require 10% of the energy needed to produce conventional panels. Analysts forecast gigawatt GW scale production of perovskite solar modules by 2028.
