Swift Solar, a California-based developer of perovskite-silicon tandem solar panels, has partnered with American Tower Corporation, a Boston-headquartered telecommunications infrastructure operator, to evaluate solar deployment across 42,000 US sites. According to Swift Solar, the initiative is focused on addressing rising power demand from AI data centers and growing pressure on grid infrastructure. The company has stated that its tandem technology delivers higher energy output per unit area than conventional silicon and is built to last over 25 years. The technology, protected by over 40 patents, has been developed through research conducted at MIT, Stanford University, and NREL. Swift Solar has also secured over $60 million in funding from multiple sources, including the US Department of Energy and Department of Defense, to support its commercial expansion.
