US-based owner and operator of distributed solar energy assets, Spruce Power Holding Corporation, has signed a new partnership agreement. The agreement is with Hot Purple Energy to monetize Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) in California. Under the agreement, Spruce will manage registration with the Western Renewable Energy Generation Information System (WREGIS), oversee monthly solar production reporting, and conduct SREC sales. The partnership includes both residential and C&I solar systems. This arrangement allows installers and asset owners to access the SREC market through a structured reporting and sales process. Spruce will handle credit certification and compliance tasks required for participation in the market. The collaboration formalizes the monetization of SRECs, supporting financial returns from solar generation through verified credit transactions.
