South Africa’s Integrated Resource Plan 2025 has projected 28.7 GW of additional solar PV capacity by 2039, outlining a long-term shift toward cleaner electricity sources.  Solar PV was presented as a main component of this outlook, with EPC companies in South Africa continuing to deliver photovoltaic projects aligned with national development requirements. One EPC firm, headquartered in South Africa and engaged in engineering, procurement and construction services, has expanded its operations and maintenance work through multiple contracts, ensuring continued support for grid-connected solar installations across the country. The plan has indicated that more than 50 percent of national power could come from solar, wind and hydropower by 2042, reflecting structural changes in the country’s future energy mix.
