Sonnedix, a global renewable energy producer, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Renfe, Spain’s national railway operator, to supply 420 GWh of solar energy annually. The deal, signed in Madrid, will source power from Sonnedix’s Covatillas 1, 5, and 6 solar plants in Cuenca and the Portachuelo portfolio in Toledo. The agreement aims to help Renfe stabilize energy costs and reduce emissions, while supporting Sonnedix’s strategy of delivering energy directly to end users. The Covatillas portfolio spans 300 hectares and is part of a newly operational 1 GW renewable energy cluster in Spain. Sonnedix has unveiled its 150 MW Betierra solar portfolio in Spain, contributing to the energy supply for its new PPA with Renfe.
