SolAmerica Energy, an Atlanta-based solar developer, has completed a 2 MW AC behind-the-meter solar project at NSG Group’s glass manufacturing facility in Ottawa, Illinois. The system is operating under a 15-year PPA and, according to SolAmerica Energy, participates in the Illinois Adjustable Block Program through a Renewable Energy Credit contract. NSG Group, a Japan-based glass and glazing products manufacturer, is receiving Green-e certified Renewable Energy Credits separately, as the credits generated under the state program were sold. Terrasmart, a Florida-based solar mounting solutions provider, supplied and installed a single-axis tracker system for the project. Terrasmart said that this is its first installation to qualify for domestic content and labor incentives under the US Inflation Reduction Act. Ground screws were used to address frost-prone soil conditions at the site, and Terrasmart also conducted surveying and provided foundation services.
