Sojitz Corporation, with its trading business based in Japan, has recently signed a corporate PPA with Kansai Electric Power and OSAKA Titanium Technologies to supply 10 MW AC of solar-generated electricity. This agreement is to provide renewable energy obtained from about 200 small-scale distributed solar power plants to OSAKA Titanium Amagasaki plant under a 20-year supply period, starting October 2025. These plants, being developed and operated by Sojitz with its subsidiary Sojitz Mirai Power Corporation, will save about 8,000 tons of carbon annually. Sojitz hopes to set up about 3,000 distributed solar plants in FY2026 in Japan from underutilized land. Since 2009, Sojitz has developed a global renewable portfolio of 2 GW. This PPA aligns with Sojitz's Medium-term Management Plan 2026 supporting tailored, region-specific energy solutions.
