The State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) has agreed to acquire a 49% equity stake in a 402 MW solar portfolio from Enfinity Global in Italy. As per Enfinity Global, the portfolio includes 14 solar PV plants located in the Lazio and Emilia-Romagna regions, with energy output secured through long-term power purchase agreements. Enfinity Global will retain a 51% majority stake and remain the long-term asset manager. According to SOFAZ, the transaction enhances its objective to generate stable income while contributing to regional energy access. The portfolio, having both operational and under-construction plants, is expected to produce 685 GWh of electricity annually. Enfinity Global has stated that the investment enables reinvestment across its 2.6 GW solar and 5.3 GW storage pipeline in Italy.
