Sinovoltaics, a Hong Kong company, has published its May 2025 Solar Supply Chain Maps for Europe, the Mediterranean, and Turkey. The maps report on manufacturing capacities and recent industry trends in modules, cells, wafers, ingots, and polysilicon. Through May 2025, regional module capacity stands at 21 GW and is expected to hit 70 GW by 2030. New additions include Kivanc, a Turkey-based module and cell manufacturer with 1.2 GW module and 5 GW cell capacity, and Elite Solar, an Egyptian company with 8 GW module capacity. SC Heliomat in Romania and Sunart PV Enerji in Turkey have also made new additions. Some of those that have stopped production include EDF's Photowatt, Solarwatt, RECOM Silia, and Turkish companies. Meyer Burger, a Swiss company, maintained its 500 MW cell factory while it restructures. Norwegian Crystal, NorSun, and REC suspended ingot and polysilicon manufacturing in Norway due to financial challenges.
