Shawton Energy, 50 % owned by Lazard Asset Management, entered a 15-year Virtual Power Purchase Agreement with King’s Cross, a major mixed-use development in Central London, to advance its renewable energy transition. The agreement involved developing the 8.6 MW Point Lane Solar Farm in Pembrokeshire, spanning 28 acres, with 14,000 solar panels to supply about 40 % of the estate’s electricity demand. Shawton Energy acquired and operated the project after receiving planning approval in 2023. The partnership marked the company’s first Virtual Corporate PPA and displaced around 2,100 tons of CO₂ annually. Triodos Bank UK provided £5.4 million in loan funding for the project.
