Sembcorp Industries Ltd, Singapore-based energy and urban infrastructure solutions company, has planned to acquireReNew Sun Bright Private Limited, a group company of Gurugram-based ReNew Private Limited. The deal is worth approximately INR 1,700 crore (~ $246 million). Sembcorp Industries has said it would be acquired by its wholly-owned subsidiary Sembcorp Green Infra Pvt Ltd and comprises a 300 MW commissioned solar power facility at Fatehgarh, Rajasthan, with commercial operation in November 2021. The facility is built to supply into India's national grid through the Inter-State Transmission System and supplies power under a 25-year PPA with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited. Sembcorp Industries said it will have a total renewable capacity of 6.9 GW in India after this acquisition is completed and the anticipatedtime frame to complete this transaction is during the first half of 2026.
