As of 1st July 2025, the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) accounted for more than 1,280 renewable energy projects of at least 1 MW, with a total approved capacity of 62 GW. ANRE indicated that 800 projects have executed grid connection contracts, 454 also have permission to build, and 151 are fully authorized. Some projects have included energy storage systems to enable grid flexibility. The data offers a snapshot of renewable energy projects since it presents the status, current approvals, permitting process, and commissioning dates within the provided timeframe. ANRE reported that over 80% of permitted projects are due to be commissioned between 2025 and 2027, which represents nearly 14 GW of capacity.
