RES, an independent renewable energy company, was awarded a three-year contract to operate and maintain Cleve Hill Solar Park, which became operational in July. The facilty was located on the north Kent coast, the 373 MW project was expected to supply electricity to over 100,000 homes annually. RES was tasked with providing operations and maintenance services to enhance performance and availability. Cleve Hill was designated a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project and received development consent in May 2020. The contract expanded RES’ UK and Ireland portfolio to 2.5GW, including 2.2GW of solar and 300MW of storage, and added four team members to its UK operations. The project was built by Metlen for Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and marked the first UK collaboration between RES and Metlen, who had previously worked together in Italy, Romania, and Australia.
