RENOVA, Inc., based in Tokyo, announced it was awarded a 20-year fixed-price electricity sales contract for an 85 MW AC solar power project in the Visayas Region, Philippines, under the Green Energy Auction Program 4. The project, RENOVA’s first solar venture in the country, was jointly developed with Victorias Green Energy Corp. The Philippines’ Department of Energy launched GEAP 4 to support its goal of achieving over 50 % renewable energy share by 2050. The project formed part of RENOVA’s 2030 plan targeting 5 GW of installed capacity, including 1.8 GW from overseas projects.
