UK-based renewable energy developer, Renewable Connections has received approval from North Yorkshire Council for the Carr House Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System in East Heslerton. The project will include a 23.5 MW solar array and a 19 MW battery system, capable of powering approximately 7,400 homes in its first year of operation. Approved under delegated powers on 6 June 2025, the development spans 88.8 hectares and aims to contribute to local energy supply and grid stability. It also includes plans for biodiversity net gains, with projected increases of 16 % in habitat units, 55 % in hedgerow units, and 7 % in watercourse units.
